SANDRA'S APPROACH TO
SPEECH THERAPY
Holistic, Professional, Compassionate
Communication is the key to connecting with others and our environment. Because of this, Sandra takes a collaborative approach to therapy, involving parents, siblings and other medical professionals. During therapy she focus on individual needs and goals and targets these goals through evidence-based therapy. Material and programs are thoughtfully chosen to be culturally appropriate, focusing on client’s interest, family-based needs and the ability to transfer into everyday environments.
In therapy you can expect to see a range of support (e.g. physical, tactile, visual and gestural prompting) provided to meet each goal and continue progressing. Sandra uses the teach me to talk language approach, play based therapy, language rich activities and parent coaching to name a few.
In order to stay aware of new treatment methods and provide her patients with the best possible intervention, Sandra attends ongoing speech therapy seminars, trainings and workshops on Speech and Language.
